McCain '08
Now that Hillary is out of the running for the presidency, who will I vote for? This is an easy choice for me. Despite Hillary's endorsement of her former rival, I will vote for John McCain. Even if Hillary were Obama's running mate, I would vote for McCain in a heartbeat. Although I am a registered Democrat, I have resolved to vote for McCain over Obama. Any one of the Democratic contenders for the nomination, would have been a far better choice than Obama. Besides Hillary, I especially liked Joe Biden. Unfortunately, idiotic Democrats bought into all the media hype surrounding that ugly, big-eared fool and turned the primary elections into a popularity competition.
Obama will never get a free pass from me. I have never been impressed with Obama. What is there to be impressed about? Okay, he has raised more money than any other presidential campaign ever. Just because a movie is most popular at the box office does not mean that it's a quality movie. Similarly, just because Obama has rampant support and great pools of funds does not mean that he is the most qualified candidate for the toughest job in the world.
I have never perceived him as "eloquent" or "brilliant" as the liberal media often say he is. I see him as pompous, egocentric, self-serving, inexperienced, dishonest, problematic, unqualified, and undeserving of the presidency. Sure, he can be a good speaker, but where's the substance? Where's the experience? Where's the foreign policy expertise? Where are the plans? Being president requires more than just rhetoric and hope. Of course he could have a vice-president and cabinet that have the experience, knowledge, and qualifications that he obvious lacks, but that's absurd! We must demand more from our leaders. We must hold them to higher standards. A leader should be a leader because he is most qualified for the job; not because he is most popular or good at public speaking. Especially when he plagiarises speeches.
Obama is a self-serving and inexperienced politician who will do or say anything just to be popular. Over 20 years ago, he converted to Christianity not for spiritual enlightenment, but for his political ambitions. He joined the most popular black church in Chicago for networking purposes. He has followed Jeremiah Wright for all these years and denies hearing anything controversial. He dismissed Wright's egregious sermons caught on video as being small aberrations that have been overplayed. A month after calling Wright an "uncle" to him, he disassociated with him. Later, he disassociated with his church after a stupid guest pastor made wrongful comments about Hillary.
To me, Obama is not an honest or honourable man. He's a coward. His attempts to repress the revote in Michigan was a clear example of his cowardice and indecency. He can not be entrusted with the presidency. I may agree with him on issues such as Iraq, health care, and gun control, but I firmly believe that it is more important to have a proven leader and someone who has earned the privilege to be president than someone that I merely agree with. Especially when the person that I agree with does not have any experience to substantiate his claims. The person who is elected must be ready on day one. The presidency is not an internship! There's no on-the-job-training.
There's more to my support of McCain than simple default that Obama is a POOR choice for president. To the contrary, McCain is honest, sincere, trust-worthy, wise, courageous, patriotic, and knowledgeable. He is a strong individual who has fought for his country and has EARNED the privilege of being president. I may not agree with many of his stance on important issues, but I respect and trust him as a leader. I trust that he has the experience and wisdom to do what is best for this country. Obama has repeatedly falsely accused McCain of being just like Bush. I completely disagree. McCain, like myself, is a maverick. He will work with both Democrats and Republicans in the best interest of the nation that he is devoted to.
I really wanted to vote for Hillary, but I will have no regrets about voting for McCain. It's an easy choice. Vote for the experienced candidate. There's too much at stake. Besides, if McCain wins, Hillary could return in 2012.
