My thoughts on love

I’m going to be more revealing than ever by writing about something that I have never ever written about—my love life. In short, the best word to describe it at this point in time is nonexistent. Despite this fact, I will still manage to write about my romantic feelings. I’m not in pursuit of romance or a fling at this moment in time. I have optometry school to keep me occupied. However, should the right person come along, I will definitely not let her pass me by. A great lady is hard to come by.

You may ask what do I seek in a girl. People tend to believe that I am so superficial, but I will dispute that. Sure, I may be a little vain and find certain things physically attractive in women, but I am just as much, if not more interested in a person’s strength of character and values than her outward appearance. Many people have no idea that I am a Romantic. Cyrano de Bergerac is one of my favourite books. Physical beauty and dress are what initially attract me to a woman, but it’s how she is as a person that keeps me interested.

The women that I would be most interested in are intelligent, charming, and classy ladies. A lady is a woman who is refined, cultured, and virtuous. A lady would comfortably conduct herself at formal ceremonies. She would do and say all the dearest things and be full of grace and charm. Cindy McCain is a fine example of a lady. I find an intelligent, classy, and strong young lady to be sexier than an attractive woman that sleeps around. Promiscuity and STDs completely turn me off.

For a relationship, I am interested in romance rather than flings. I’m at an age where I do not want to waste my time or money on a relationship that does not have a promising future. By promising, I do not mean easy sex. I am interested in a long-term partner rather than a sex buddy. I do not believe it’s morally fitting to have casual encounters. First and foremost, I’m interested in someone who has similar values as I. After that, I am interested in someone who is intelligent, charming, lovely, and gracious. I am interested in a young lady who is accomplished and interested in having a family. The woman that I will marry will be a fine mother and have a place in the world. She would know how to treat others and support her loved ones. She would be strong, yet feminine.

At the rate that I’m going, my younger brothers are beating me to the altar, but that is of no concern to me. I would rather be single for life than to be in a bad marriage.
